Tubeless-Ready Carbon Wheels

Fewer Flats. Lower Pressures. Proven Speed.

Every wheelset in this collection is tubeless-ready and hand-built at HED's Roseville, Minnesota facility. Running tubeless gets you lower rolling resistance, better grip, and sealant that closes small punctures before you notice them. Pick your category, pick your depth, and ride with fewer flats.

Why Ride Tubeless

A tubeless setup removes the inner tube from the equation. The tire bead locks directly against the rim bed, and tubeless sealant inside the tire handles small punctures on the move. Without a tube, there is no pinch flat risk, so you can drop pressure for more grip and comfort while staying fast. A wide internal width paired with a tubeless tire also lowers rolling resistance compared to a narrow rim running the same tire with a tube.

What You Need for Tubeless Setup

A tubeless system has four parts: a tubeless-ready rim, tubeless rim tape sealing the spoke holes, a tubeless valve seated in the valve hole, and a tubeless-ready tire with sealant inside. Every HED wheel ships with rim tape, and deeper-section carbon wheels include tubeless valves of the correct length. Most setups seat with a floor pump. A stubborn tire bead may need an air compressor.

Tubeless Wheels for Road, Gravel, Triathlon, and Track

The Vanquish and Vanquish Pro bring deep-section carbon speed to road and triathlon on disc brake bikes. The Jet RC series pairs a carbon aero fairing with an alloy rim base and includes rim brake options. The Ardennes series is HED's lightweight alloy road wheel in both brake standards. For gravel, the Emporia and Stillwater G50 use wider rims built for high-volume tires and lower pressures. The Jet Track series carries the same tubeless-ready construction to the velodrome.

FAQs

What are tubeless bike wheels?

Tubeless bike wheels hold air without an inner tube. The rim bed is sealed with tubeless tape, a tubeless valve fits through the valve hole, and the tire bead seals directly against the rim. Liquid sealant inside the tire closes small punctures as you ride. The result is a setup with no pinch flats, lower rolling resistance, and the ability to run lower pressure than a standard clincher tire with a tube. For a deeper look at how the technology works, read our guide on tubeless-ready rims.

Are all HED wheels tubeless compatible?

Yes. Every wheelset in this collection and across HED's current lineup is tubeless-ready. Rim tape is included with each wheel. Apply two layers if you received ivory rim tape, one layer if you received black rim tape. Deeper-section carbon wheels also include tubeless valves or valve extenders of the appropriate length. For questions about older models, contact HED's team at (888) 246-3639.

How do I set up tubeless tires on HED wheels?

Start with the included rim tape applied cleanly across the rim bed, covering every spoke hole. Install the tubeless valve and tighten it at the valve stem base. Mount one side of the tire, add sealant, then seat the second bead. Inflate with a floor pump in steady strokes until the bead snaps into the rim hooks. If the bead will not seat, remove the valve core to increase airflow or use an air compressor. Check pressure again after the first ride, since new setups often lose a little air while the sealant coats the tire. Still picking tires for your road wheels? Can I still use an inner tube on tubeless-ready rims?

Yes. Every HED tubeless-ready rim also works as a standard clincher, so you can run a tube any time. That flexibility matters on the road. If a puncture is too large for sealant to close, install a tube and finish the ride. Tubular tires are the one exception, since they require a dedicated tubular rim and do not mount on a clincher or tubeless rim.

What tire pressure should I run with a tubeless setup?

Lower than you would with a tube. Without a tube, there is no pinch flat risk, so riders run softer setups for added control without losing speed. The right number depends on your weight, tire width, and terrain, and wider rims support lower pressures than narrow ones. Check the maximum pressure printed on your rim and tire, and never exceed the lower of the two. Gravel riders can find a starting point in our guide on how to choose gravel tire pressure, or call HED at (888) 246-3639.

Do HED tubeless wheels come with a warranty?

Yes. Every HED wheel comes with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects, and HED offers a crash replacement program if you damage your wheel in an accident. Questions about your specific situation can be directed to HED's team at (888) 246-3639 or through the contact page on the site.
