The Vanquish V45 uses a 45mm-deep carbon rim profile designed to balance aerodynamic efficiency with predictable handling across changing wind conditions. Its 22.4mm internal width supports modern road tires, helping create a stable tire shape for confident cornering, improved comfort, and lower rolling resistance.
Optimized around 28mm tires, the V45 is versatile enough for road racing, fast group rides, climbing, and everyday performance riding. The hooked rim design supports both tubeless setups and traditional clincher tires with inner tubes.
HED GP Performance Centerlock hubs use sealed EZO Japan cartridge bearings for smooth rotation, dependable durability, and straightforward long-term service. The rear hub features a four-pawl freehub system with 13-degree engagement for reliable power transfer under acceleration.
Each wheel is built with 24 Sapim Sprint spokes and is individually tensioned, trued, and inspected by hand at HED’s facility in Roseville, Minnesota. The result is a responsive, serviceable wheelset built for speed in real-world conditions.

External alloy nipples allow straightforward truing and long-term wheel service. Each wheel is individually tensioned, dished, and inspected by hand at HED’s Roseville, Minnesota facility.

The front hub uses a 12x100mm thru axle and two sealed EZO Japan 6902RS cartridge bearings. The rear uses a 12x142mm thru axle, four sealed EZO Japan 6902RS bearings, and a four-pawl freehub mechanism with 13-degree engagement.
Freehub options include Shimano HG, SRAM XDR, and Campagnolo-compatible configurations.
Spokes
Each Vanquish V45 wheel is built with 24 Sapim Sprint spokes. Their reinforced center section provides additional lateral stiffness while retaining the fatigue resistance and serviceability of a double-butted spoke.
